An increasing number of dedicated professionals in the field of health use Health & Wellbeing North Ward as their main practice to deliver high level of health care to our clients making us a one-stop-shop for health where most aspects of health and healing can be addresses in a single clinic.
For your convenience, to help easily learn to recognise faces and who is working at Health & Wellbeing North Ward, we have divided our team in major categories but we remain mindful that General Practice is a team-based discipline and everybody in the team plays a unique and essential role in the care of our clients and patients.
Jess has lived in Townsville most of her life and joined the HWB team in November 2021.
What Jess enjoys most about her role is the friendly patient interaction and no day is ever the same.
In her free time, you will catch her binge watching tv shows and movies.
Lily joined the HWB family in 2023, originally from Bundaberg, Lily has relocated to Townsville to study Paramedicine.
Lily enjoys the encounters with our friendly patients.
When she’s not busy studying Lily spends her free time with her friends.
After moving from Carins, Narelle joined the HWB team in July 2024.
She enjoys having friendly interactions and a bit of banter with patients. With her free time you catch Narelle spending it with family and friends.
Tye-Rayne has joined HWB to further her experience in the medical field previously specialising is palliative care.
Tye-Rayne was born in Zimbabwe, she enjoys camping, adventures, and documentaries.
Sally has been a nurse for 19 years, graduating in 2003.
She has over 16 years rural hospital nursing experience and has been a GP nurse since she moved up from South Australia in 2020.
Together with her partner, they have 2 beautiful children, and welcomed their third baby in August 2021.
Sally loves being a nurse as she enjoys helping people, meeting new people from young to old and building a strong rapport with her patients.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children, walking and relaxing.
Tiarne joined HWB in October 2021 after relocating from Brisbane where she completed her Bachelor of Nursing Science in 2019.
Tiarne has worked throughout a variety of medical and nursing care settings as a Registered Nurse and has a keen interest in providing high quality patient focused care.

Tiarne is a proud partner and mother of two beautiful young children. In her spare, time Tiarne enjoys exploring sunny NQ with her family and friends.
Fiona graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2007, before going on to work across the Torres Strait and the Pilbara in Northern WA for 14 years. Along with her husband and 4 children they moved to Townsville at the end of 2021.
Fiona attained her Post Graduate Certificate in Infection Prevention in 2015, and then went on to work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infection Prevention.
She is passionate about Indigenous Health, Childhood Immunisations, rural and remote nursing.
Georgia joined HWB in 2023 , after moving to Townsville from NSW, due to her partners Defence posting .
She grew up in the Blue Mountains, NSW and has been a nurse for 30 years, graduating in 1994. Most of her career has been spent working in Emergency Departments until transitioning to practice nursing 6years ago .
Georgia loves caring for people of all ages , with a special interest in child and family health. She is a mum of 3 children and any spare time is running them around to their sports.
Achamma is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialed Diabetes Educator. She consults part-time as a Dietitian at HWB, while also working as a Dietitian at Community Health in Kirwan, under Queensland Health.
She was born and educated in India, has worked in many other countries and contributes a cross-cultural approach to health and nutrition.
Achamma has a special interest in mental health, gut health, eating disorders, Indigenous Health, diabetes and metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disorders.
She is also specialised in diabetes, renal, weight management and gastrointestinal disorders.
Madeleine is one of our Dietitians at Health & Wellbeing North Ward.
Madeleine is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia and works mostly with adults and adolescents. She can assist with weight reduction, diabetes, cholesterol lowering, high blood pressure, food sensitivities, healthy lifestyles and sports nutrition.
Helen Kanowski is an Occupational Therapist and qualified Life Coach with 25 years of clinical, managerial, and teaching experience. Helen’s work focuses on assisting people to successfully negotiate change in their lives, and enabling people to manage situations which are effecting their ability to engage in their life roles.
Through a process of clarifying goals, developing strategies to meet those goals, and sustaining forward movement, Helen takes a practical, problem solving approach to issues such as personal and professional goal setting, developing confidence and self esteem, and improving communication.
All our Practitioners work by appointment so bookings are essential. Because of this, cancellation policies are necessarily strict and a cancellation fee is applied.
Doctors accept cancellations on the same day, but not during the session of the appointment.
All other practitioners accept cancellations one day ahead of the appointment. Cancellation fees apply in all other cases.
